In todays episode I interview Celia Pool, the co-founder of DAME, the world's first reusable tampon applicator. They launched the product at the start of 2019 after releasing a Kickstarter campaign that went viral all over the Internet and within a few months of being on the market they got a place in the shelves of Waitrose, one of the most important supermarkets in the UK.
Dame's aim is to build a sustainability bridge for people who would like to make greener decisions but are not ready to give up their routines yet. They encourage the use of menstrual cups but they are aware it's not everybody's cup of tea and that's why they came up with this product. This tampon applicator is designed so that you only need to buy it once in your life, it cleans itself, so you don't have to boil it and makes it super easy to use. Also, the tampons they sell are organic and free of chemicals.
In this podcast episode we chat about female entrepreneurs and the fear of failing, she gives advice and tips for a successful crowdfunding campaign or how small changes make big impacts.
